Doug Dawson is the fifth generation of a family that has been forever involved in the boating industry. He was raised in his family’s marina and his bedroom overlooked the company boat yard. Through the years he has sold and delivered thousands of boats – from Florida to Northern Ontario. While many of the boats were simple runabouts, a good number were large yachts. He is a past president of the Marine Operators Association and has served on its board for over thirty years. He was awarded the Robertson Award for outstanding service to the marine industry and founded one of the first complete guides to used boat values. His greatest passion is helping people find and enjoy the boats of their choice. Doug’s first efforts to convey advice to boat buyers were through monthly articles that he wrote for national boating magazines.
